No one connected with Allegan County died of the Coronavirus in the past two weeks, according to the County Health Department.
Allegan County still has 118 deaths reported since the pandemic began almost a year ago. The number of hospitalizations is 186 and 7.030 have been reported as recovered from the virus. There is a positivity rate of 5 percent of cases reported.
Though Allegan County has had an average of 15 new cases per day over the last seven days, a slight increase above previous statistics, signs still point to positive developments. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced last week that restaurants now can seat as many as 50 percent capacity and restrictions at nursing and assisted living facilities are being relaxed.
State officials now insist that beginning April 5 all adults over the age of 16 will be eligible for vaccinations.
Saturday clinics continue at the auxiliary gym at Wayland High School.
Too bad 47% of Trumpians won’t get the shot. Playing politics ahead of your health is stupid. I got my first shot and so did my wife. I can’t wait for the second one. Except for the people who won’t wear a mask, social distance, or get a shot. I hope we all survive.
