Raymond David Bellingar, 90, of Inverness, Fla., died Wednesday, Sept.1, 2021 at the Wings Home in Allegan.
Born Sept. 7, 1930, in Wayland, he was the son of the late Lynn and Martha (Bump) Bellingar and the husband of the late Marianne (Statlander) Bellingar.
Raymond was a World War II veteran, in which he was a quartermaster and served two years in Alaska. In his earlier years, he loved to square dance and was always known to be singing or humming a tune. He was very passionate about golfing and played until he was 89 years old.
Raymond and wife Marilyn spent many summers in Allegan, appreciating cooler weather and winters in Florida enjoying as much family time between both sides as possible. They also attended any grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s events they could.
Raymond loved a good round of cribbage, watching old westerns, going to breakfast at the local Village Inn, and you rarely saw him without Marilyn by his side.
Raymond is survived by his children, Amy (Becky) Bellingar and Tim (Cyndi) Bellingar; granddaughters, Jennifer (Craig) Myers, Jessica Bellingar and Ashley Newman; and great-granddaughters, Mackenzie Myers, and Raelynn Newman all of Florida; his brother, Roy (Jean) Bellingar; sister-in-law, Leone Bellingar; and cousins, Alice Kelsey and Tom Kelsey all of Michigan; as well as his partner of 17 years, Marilyn Bellingar; her children, Jim (Deb) Bellingar, Dave (Robin) Bellingar, Randy (Sharon) Bellingar, Cindy (Don) Martin; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Bellingar.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or Wings Home (530 Linn Street, Allegan MI 49010). Both took very good care to ensure he was comfortable in his final days.
