Terry Glenn Hoeve died at home Saturday, Jan. 21, just shy of his 79th birthday.

He was born Jan. 26, 1944, to the late Lambert and V. Lavern (Brown) Hoeve, Jr. in Bowie, Texas. Early in life, his family moved to Wayland, where he grew up.

After attending college classes, Terry decided to follow in his fathers footsteps and began working at General Motors in Grand Rapids, then he was promoted to supervisor at the Kalamazoo plant, where he worked until retirement.

He was an avid motor sports enthusiast with drag racing, snowmobiles, motorcycles, tractors and boats being his favorites. Antique tractor pulling became his passion.

Surviving Terry are his wife, Carol; children, Tonny Lynn Settler, Tonya Linn Stickler, Scott (Nina) Hoeve, Terry (Robin) Hoeve; sisters, Janice (Bruce) Odem, and Jill (Jeff) Tubergon.

Preceding him in passing were his parents and stepmother, Arlene Hoeve.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place, no services will be announced at this time
