Phyllis Stein’s visitation is Friday at Fine Arts Center

Phyllis Ann (Weber) Stein, age 84 of Wayland, died Saturday, Dec. 16.

Phyllis was a devoted Catholic, an avid quilter, a beautiful letter and card writer, an avid reader and was member #64425 of the littlefreelibray.com, but her greatest joy was her large family.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Burrell Stein; their children Marjorie (Trudy Vandell) Stein, Laura (Jerry) Boerema, John (LuAnn) Stein, Lynn Stein, Susan (John) Weick, Joseph (Kimberly) Stein, Luke (Amy Meengs) Stein, Jacqueline (Patrick) Chandler and Emily (Thomas) Solimine; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother Dennis (Shirley) Weber and sister Barbara (Dennis) Roys; brothers and sisters in-law Robert Bieber, Sister Marjorie Stein O.P., Owen (Marie) Stein, Bernadette Antecki, Kenneth (Margaret) Schwartz, and Rosemary (Calvin) Wolters.

A celebration of Phyllis’ life will take place with a Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 128 Cedar St., Wayland. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at the Wayland Union Fine Arts Center, Grand Hall, 870 E. Superior St., Wayland, with a Rosary/Vigil service at 4 p.m.

Cremation has taken place.In lieu of flowers the family strongly encourages memorial contributions to be made to Wayland Union Education Foundation or Wayland Robotics Team 6090.
