The Wayland City Planning Tuesday night agreed to recommend the City Council approve a special use request from Green Planet LLC to establish a marijuana business at 122 W. Superior St.
The commission recommended approval for such a business at that site earlier this year, but the proprietor failed to complete the final steps in the process and had to withdraw.
The recommendation stipulates completion of an air filtration service as a condition.
The Planning Commission also approved a special use permit for event venues or dance halls in the central business district. The original language of “by right” was dropped.
The city now has approved zoning for five local sites to dispense marijuana after an ordinance was adopted late last year. One business, Prosper, is up and running just behind the Burger King at Clark Street.
