Pleasure Riders help raise $17,000 for 2 charities

One hundred and eighty-five riders turned out for the Allegan County Pleasure
Riders 43rd Annual Benefit Ride April 15 at Silver Creek County Park and helped raise $17,122.

This year’s recipients were Wings of Hope Hospice, the Wings Home, the Allegan County Equestrian Trail System (FACETS) and the Paula West Therapeutic Riding Scholarship Foundation.

The Paula West Therapeutic Riding is coordinated through the Allegan General Hospital Foundation, which has worked with the Chef Therapeutic Riding Center in Paula’s memory to offer scholarship sponsored sessions to children and adolescents ages 5 to 18 living in
Allegan and Van Buren counties. Their goal is to provide financial assistance to families who would not otherwise be able to afford this type of therapy.

Anyone who knows of anyone who would benefit from this opportunity is asked to contact the Allegan General Hospital Foundation at 269-686-4234.
