Karl R. Loth, age 82, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, April 11.

Karl retired from the U.S. Navy and from the Grand Valley State University Maintenance Dept. He enjoyed raising llamas and loved to fish.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Loth; sons Lawrence (Susan) Loth, and Allen (Becky) Loth; daughter, Christine (John) Stanford; step-daughters Vicky (Curt) Brower, Julie (Jeff) VanDerMei, and Rose Buttleman; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Lawrence (Eileen) Loth.

A private burial and graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Wayland Township.
