Marlene Edema, 59, died Wednesday, Feb. 3.

Road runner Marlene always enjoyed helping everyone. She loved to swim, sit in the sun with her husband, and enjoyed the tractor pulls. Marlene loved her dog, Balue. She always knew where the best sales and garage sales were.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jim Edema; children Katelynn Edema, Kendralyn (Trent) Vela, Karolyne Edema, Brandon (Anna) Miller, Lane (Emily) Carpenter; grandsons Payton Barth, Buckley Vela; siblings Denise (Cam) Chalmers, Dale (Mary) Deverman Jr., Kevin (LuAnne) Deverman, Tamara (Ken) Waayenberg, Tyson (Nikki) Deverman, Heath (Jessica) Deverman, Marcie (Dylan) Stark; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Sr. and Mary Deverman; in-laws James and Karen Edema.

A private family mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Visitation, 2459 146th Ave., Byron Center.

In honor of Marlene and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Edema family for funeral expenses.
