Private graveside service June 30 for Adeline Alflen

Adeline “Aunt Pete” Alflen, age 90, died Friday, May 22.

Aunt Pete loved life and lived each day with enjoyment doing her favorite hobbies, such as golfing with her grandkids, knitting, crafting, shopping and especially baking. In younger years, she would make wedding cakes and various baked goods for weddings, family get-togethers and those who stopped by. Aunt Pete was also meticulous about her yard, making sure it was always groomed and at perfection.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Gerry (Judy) Alflen, Cindy (Gary) Brower, Randy Alflen; grandchildren Heather (Matt) Kossen, Kevin (Shawna) Alflen, Amanda (Mike) Merren, Scott (Dawn) Burns, Matt Brower, Robbie (Kerrie) Brower, Jamie (Justin Cox) Brower; great-grandchildren Cierra, Jarrod, Mckenzie, Nicki, Kayla, Kaleb, Eli, Bailee, Luke, Quintin, Savanna, Kendrick, Carter, Lauren, Carly Brandon, Tylor, Eryn, Gage; great-great-grandchildren Violet, Kason, Myra; and her beloved cat, Fluffy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Alflen; and great-granddaughter, Megen Jo Modreske.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private, immediate family-only graveside service will be held on her birthday, June 30, per her request.

In memory of Aunt Pete and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of her great-granddaughter, Megen.
