Linda Lue Hays passed died Monday, Jan. 27, after a long illness. She was 77.

Linda is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Linda was an artist and her talents shone through and influenced many people from the margins of books and notes, to large-scale paintings. She illustrated the places she lived, the places she visited, and the family moments she loved.

She lent her gifts for designing and crafting to the organizations for which she volunteered, whether by making promotional materials for PTA, or organizing creative projects for the 4-H group she launched. Together, her husband Paul and Linda spent many years as active and serving members of their faith community. Linda also enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, hosting family and friends, and travel. She traveled extensively, home and abroad, sharing adventures with her family.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ann and Bryan Hanshaw, Mary and Robert Tennant, and Nathan and Amy Hays. She is also survived by six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Beverly Crumrine and husband, Paul Hays.

Per Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will be in Lee’s Summit (Missouri) Historical Cemetery, alongside Paul. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

In memory of Linda, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
