Larry Oscar Bartz, age 75, died Wednesday, Jan. 17.

He was born at the family farm in North Dorr April 27, 1948. He served the United States Army in Southeast Asia. After his service, Larry married Diane Warwick on March 15, 1975.

Larry and Diane enjoyed doing everything together – especially being involved in the classic car community and raising their children. Those who loved him, knew him to be a quiet man, yet he spoke loudly with his heart. Larry spread generosity and kindness and proved his loyalty through his actions. These admirable traits weren’t limited to just his family and friends’ observation; he also demonstrated them as a heavy equipment operator. He finalized his career with 40 years of service to the International Union of Operating Engineers.

He is survived by sister Shirley Zeitter; sister Donna (Dan) Engel; brother Jim (JoAnn) Bartz; children Tammy (Sean) Sullivan, Jeremy (Wendy) Bartz, Jason Bartz; grandchildren Alessandra, Emma, Anna, Clayton, and Alexis.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Julia Bartz; wife of 25 years, Diane; brother-in-law, Herb Zeitter.

The family has chosen to conduct an intimate service and no visitation will be held. A celebration of life will be held in his honor April 27, 2024, which would have been his 76th birthday.
