Michigan State Police troopers from the Wayland post, along with the Wayland PD, seized 36 marijuana plants, guns and currency Saturday in the home of Yankee Springs Township suspected of assaulting an elderly man.

Authorities had responded to a local business to investigate an assault and investigation showed it was the result of a road rage incident in which an elderly male sustained injuries. The victim has sought medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Police then went to the suspect’s residence in and while making contact with him noted the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the residence. A search of the residence produced a large scale marijuana grow which included 36 plants and the owner was not a medical marijuana patient or caregiver.
