Local first responders Wednesday afternoon will be simulating a crash behind Hopkins High School. THIS IS JUST A SIMULATION!
The purpose of this event is to educate Hopkins High School Students (grades 10-12) about the dangers of impaired, and distracted driving.
“Prom and graduation are not always celebrated with the best choices, so we want the opportunity to educate and give information,” said Allegan County Sheriff’s Deputy Tracey Keefauver, who is the Hopkins schools sheriff’s liaison. “You will hear a lot of sirens for a short time.”
She will be assisted today by Hopkins Fire, the ACSO Traffic Team, Aero Med (a helicopter is coming and landing), Scott’s Towing, Gordon’s Funeral Home, Allegan MEI office, and Wayland EMS.
Keefauver added, “There is NO threat at the school and everyone is safe.”
