Gary John Van Vuren, age 77 of Wayland, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, at home.

Born in 1947 to John and Eva Van Vuren, Gary graduated from Chicago Christian High School in 1965 and went on to earn his degree from Calvin College in 1969. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra; two sons Jason (Michella) of Caledonia and Mike (Mikki) of Bozeman, Montana; brother, Bob Van Vuren of Oklahoma; sisters Linda Greendyke of Florida and Kathy (John) Griffin of Illinois; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bill Greendyke; and sister-in-law, Judy Van Vuren.

Donations in Gary’s memory may be sent to Wings of Hope Hospice, in Allegan.
