Robert D. Crumphoto_20151027_WM0051800_0_robert_crumback_army__2__20151027back, 89, of Leighton Township, died Sunday, Oct. 25, at his home.
The first child of Carl and Mary Johnston, Crumback lived at his Leighton home with Barbara, his wife of more than 50 years. He was very proud of his home and you could always find him taking care of the yard. He was the carpenter on many projects they designed in and out of the home. and a great woodworker. They raised six children and the family continues to grow.
Bob started his adult life in the Phillipines during World War II. He was a proud Army veteran. He traveled the highways of this country as a truck driver but the only food he wanted was Barb’s home cooking.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Pease); his children, Ron, Chris and Sharon, Pam and Luke Munn, and John and Wendy; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Elsie and Norm DeLeeuw and Linda Crumback; his sister-in-laws, Carole, Ellen and Gloria Crumback and June Raynes; brother-in-law, Mike and MaryAnn Pease; and many nephews and nieces
Those who preceded him in death were his parents; his sons, Scott and Chuck; his grandchildren, Chuck II, Nyree VanCamp, Chris O’Connor; and his siblings, Cal, Charlotte McPeck, Eldon (Pat), and Larry.
As per his wishes, there will be no funeral but the family will gather at the Caledonia American Legion at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.
