Word on Facebook is that Robin Beckwith, assistant manager, has been promoted to manager of the Wayland branch of United Bank.

Townbroadcast attempted to contact a United Bank official about the development, but received no reply.

Beckwith has been assistant manager and a licensed mortgage broker at the bank for more than a half dozen years. She and her husband, Jason, have two children and live in Wayland. Jason was a police officer for the City of Wayland, but now works as a public safety officer for the City of Kalamazoo.

If her promotion is true, she succeeds Kara Vugteveen, who was named manager in March 2012 and has been with United bank for more than 13 years. There was no word about what Vugteveen is doing now.
