Rosemary Anger of Hastings has been selected as assessor for Martin Township.

She and two other finalists were scheduled for interviews Monday evening with the Township Board, after which the board chose her for the job, succeeding Sherry Burd, who has moved to the Upper Peninsula.

Anger has been a longtime employee at the Barry County Equalization Department. Though she and her husband and children live in Hastings, her spouse, Jeff Knias, is a teacher at Wayland High School.
