Sandra Lee Pattok, age 82, of Hastings, died Aug. 26. She was a 1955 graduate of Wayland High School.

Sandra was born on Aug. 3, 1938, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Russell Fred and Irma Verl (Leggett) Keeney. On June 25, 1960, she married Gerald (Jerry) LeRoy Pattok, and they would have been married for 60 years this year.  She was an educator both in Hastings and at the Barry County Jail, retiring in 1992.

Sandra enjoyed genealogy, gardening, travel, and continued to learn even in retirement.  She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. She helped her mother with janitorial duties to support the family, and since then has provided for others constantly, always caring and making sure family was provided for.

She is survived by her children John (Sheryl) Pattok, Eric (Kathryn) Pattok, Laura Pattok, Anna, Emily, Sydney, Kathleen, Matthew, Samuel, grandchildren Johnathan (Samantha) Smith, Jessica (Kevin) Boonstra, Lauren Pattok, Jake Pattok, great-grandchildren, Theo and Alice Smith, sisters Helen (Dave) Osgood and Barb (Jerry) DeYoung, and sister-in-law Patricia (Ron) Pattok.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents Russell and Irma, her husband, Gerald, and her infant son, Tycho

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to HEEF with “Sandra and Gerald Pattok Scholarship Fund” in the memo of the check, 232 West Grand St., Hastings MI, 49058.

Visitation was Aug. 31 at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S. Broadway, Hastings. A private family service will be held at a later date.
