Dick Harrison Herp, age 77 of Martin, died Saturday, April 13.

Dick enjoyed many things, including Broncos and Lions football, spending time with his family and friends, and puttering around in his garage. One of his best and most familiar qualities was that he could make a friend with anyone he met.

Dick is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette Herp; children Denise (William) Warner, Mark (Shelly) Herp, Eric (Christina) Herp, Daniel (Sandy) Herp; grandchildren Joshua Warner, Justin Herp, Sean (Corrie) Herp, Mars Herp, Capri Herp; siblings Robert Herp, Jack (Kay) Herp, and Debbie Jablonski; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Gertrude Herp; siblings Carl (Mary) Herp, Donald Herp, Dennis Herp, and Kathy (Duane) Smith; sister-in-law, Carol Herp; and brother-in-law, Ray Jablonski.

A celebration of Dick’s life visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 29, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Dorr Chapel), 4330 18th St., with a time for sharing of memories at 6 p.m.

In memory of Dick and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Martin Athletic Department Activity Fund. Dick was an avid supporter of all Martin Public School athletics.
