Jack Lee Washburn, age 78, died Friday, Oct. 29.

Jack was born on July 9, 1943, to Clair and Bertha (Carpenter) Washburn.

Jack served four years in the Air Force. He graduated with a four- year degree from Aquinas College. He worked at Smiths Aerospace for 40 years in various management positions.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and golfing and had a cottage at Barlow Lake for 47 years. Jack enjoyed his summers at Barlow Lake and spent his winters in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., in his retirement. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.

Jack is survived by his wife, Pam Washburn; his son Kurt Jay Washburn; his siblings: Ken Washburn, George (Mary) Washburn, Linda Firlik, Gayle (Jerry) Clement, Sandy Hayward, Clair (Don) Black, Cindy (Larry) Keyzer and his in-laws: Jim (Barb) Keyzer, Pat (Ben) Geisel and Audrey (Dave) Maskill as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, at the Martin Reformed Church, where the funeral will take place at 2 p.m.
