Lois Marguerite Niemchick/Hooker, age 93, of Wayland, died Peacefully Saturday, Oct 1 peacefully at her  home.

Lois  worked as a pharmacy tech at Nickels Pharmacy for many  years and then later at Wayland Village Drugs.

Lois raised and cared for her eight children, her husband and their home. She was always there for them and anyone else who needed special guidance. She was a very strong and wise lady. She was also very well known for her lemon pies.

She is survived by her children Anna (Randy) Spray, Jan (Denise Klein) Niemchick
Paula (Les) Tap, Tom (Vicky) Niemchick, Bruce (Julie) Niemchick, David (Emily) Niemchick, Lynne (John) Kotarski, Mike Niemchick, Mary (Ray) Tong, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Cody.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Ace Niemchick, second husband Bill Hooker, stepsons Eric and William Hooker, and three siblings.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday Oct. 9, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home in Wayland. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at St Therese Church with one hour visitation before the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Wings of Hope Hospice.
