Service for Patricia Fenton of Martin will be Friday

Patricia Fenton died Sunday, Feb. 22, surrounded by her family at Carveth Village. She was 82.

She was born Nov. 7, 1943, in Allegan, to James and Vivian (Griffith) Lang one of 10 children born into the family.

Pat married Jack Fenton on Jan. 6, 1966, and over the years they built a family of six children: Tammy, Deborah, Mary, Susan, Jack, and Jeff. Together, they lived on a dairy farm in Wayland.

Besides their farming business, Jack and Pat established Fenton’s Red Barn restaurant, serving the Martin community until 1996. They sold the farm and restaurant in 1996, to focus on each other and family by vacationing in Lake Leelanau, Mich. and Sun City, Fla.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 2019. She is survived by children: Tammy (Russell) Quick, Deborah (Robert) Peckham, Mary (Jerry) Bronkhorst, Susan (Kevin) DeKoekkoek, Jack (Shauna) Fenton, Jeff Fenton; grandchildren Dustin (Jillian) Quick, Shelby (Sean) Peckham, Robert (Kristen) McKenzie, Anna and Clara (Chad) Bronkhorst, Aren DeKoekkoek, Hunter, Pyper, and Avarie Fenton; and great-grandchildren James and Olivia Peckham, Sophia and Cody Arnold as well as many nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are her siblings: James Sanford, Wanda Stroud and Judy Freed, as well as special “adopted” grandchild Teddy Miklusicak.

Visitation  will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 at the funeral home; 120 S. Woodhams St. Plainwell. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the East Martin Christian Reformed Church; 1782 5th St., with Pastor Joel Trinidad officiating. A private burial will take place.
