
Steven Henry Luce, age 79, of Byron Center died Tuesday, April 7.
Steven retired from General Motors, after 30 years of service. He also worked at building homes for Rookus Builders for many years. He could take a piece of wood and make it into something beautiful.
He was a graduate of Wayland High School.
If someone was in need, he gave to them with no questions asked.
Steven is survived by his wife, Dorothy Luce; his two children, Corey (Kim) Luce and Kim (Ron) Schuster; two step-children, Don Bignall and Brenda (Fernando) Larzabal; seven grandchildren, Lexi (Raul) Padron, Arin Heinz, Natalie (Jon) Schurman, Nathan Schuster, Matthew (Elizabeth) Luce, Samantha (Dylan) Crosson, Emily Luce; seven step-grandchildren, Amanda Bignall, Ava Bignall, Joey Bignall, Ben (Emily) Larzabal, Lucas (Moriah) Larzabal, Nicolas Larzabal and Samuel (Kami) Larzabal; five great grandchildren, Nora, Joni, Beckham, Juliana, Mateo; three siblings, Gailen (Sue) Luce, Sharon Fasick, Lavonna (Jim) Butler; and many nieces and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents Gailen and Ruth Luce; sister Shirley Ensing; brothers in law Marlin Ensing and Robert Fasick.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at Moline Baptist Church, 4428 Chappell Ave., with the Rev. Christopher Bossio officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Guests may join the family for lunch after the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks those memorial contributions to be sent to the Moline Baptist Church Benevolent Fund.
