Service is April 30 for Connie Hoskinson, 70

Constance L. Hoskinson, affectionately known as Connie, died peacefully at her home in Shelbyville April 24 at the age of 70.

Born on April 16, 1955, in Cadillac, she was the daughter of Glenn and Jackie (Cornelius) Rex.

Connie’s journey through life was marked by her vibrant spirit and outgoing personality. She embraced each day with a loving soul that endeared her to friends and family alike. In her early years, she began her career working at Pizza Hut, which laid the groundwork for a life dedicated to caring for others as she later became a home health aide.

In pursuit of her education, Connie went back to school and proudly graduated from Otsego High School in 1994. Her interests and hobbies reflected her zest for life. She loved participating in a pool league, going for motorcycle rides, and attending bike week in Daytona. She had a passion for cooking and gardening and found joy in feeding and watching the birds.

Connie also cherished spending time with friends, particularly at Culver’s. Nothing was more important to Connie than her family, often stating she loved everyone “80 million.” A testament to the love and support she offered her family, she helped raise her granddaughter, Isabella, after the passing of her daughter-in-law.

Surviving are her children, Glenn (Amanda) Moreland of Tennessee, Johnny (Sarah) Montgomery of Gun Lake, Tobias Montgomery of Shelbyville, Gregory Housten of Kalamazoo, and Melinda Housten of Plainwell; her grandchildren, Brianna, Marissa, Sadie, Josh, Isabella, Mason, Haven, and Owen and sister, Sandy (Bud) Bowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Calvin Rex.

According to her wishes cremation has taken place.

Friends may visit with Connie’s family starting at 10 a.m, Wednesday, April 30, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sarah Montgomery officiating.

Contributions in memory of Connie may be directed to Rectify Church in Allegan.
