
Geraldine “Gerri” Louise Kurdelski, age 84, died Saturday, May 3.
Gerri was a graduate of Mt. Mercy Academy. She attended GRJC and Davenport College, was a member of the American Institute of Banking, and belonged to the Western Michigan Chapter of Institute of Internal Auditors. An auditor during the business week, Gerri spent her weekends gardening and using her camera and brushes to capture outdoor scenes for original watercolor prints and notecards.
Gerri was a member and volunteer of the Allegan County Historical Society, Hope Network – Annetta Jansen Ministry, Wayland Community Quilters, and the Then and Now Genealogical Library. She was also a member of Allegan Area Arts Council and the Our Lady, Queen of Heaven Circle at St. Stanislaus Church.
Gerri is survived by her children Christine (James) Head, Thomas (Marie) Kurdelski, Kenneth (Carrie) Kurdelski, Matthew (Katie) Kurdelski; seven grandchildren; half-brother, Lawrence Bayer; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Gerri was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Rocky” Kurdelski Sr.; parents Stanley and Therese Truskowski; and sister, Katherine Scholten.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Dorr Chapel), 4330 18th St., with prayers of the Rosary beginning at 4 p.m. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1871 136th Ave., Dorr.
Gerri will be laid to rest next to her husband, Thomas Sr., at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
