Kenneth Lloyd Josey, age 92 of Hopkins, died Monday, Sept. 28.

Kenneth served his country in the Army Corp of Engineers during the Korean Conflict. He enrolled in Michigan State College in 1953 and graduated in 1957 from Michigan State University with his degree in agricultural engineering.

Kenneth was active in the Wayland Lion’s Club in the 1960s and 1970s and also enjoyed playing in the Alpena City Band. Kenneth retired in 1991 from the Railroad Perishable Inspection Agency. He enjoyed traveling with his family and spending time in Georgia and Florida.

He and Barbara spent many years at their retirement home in Ludington. Kenneth and Barbara were longtime members at Wayland United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara; their children Patricia Josey and Tony Schuster, Dotty and Jeff Peare, and Chuck and Dawn Josey; grandchildren Ken (Cass), Scott and Steven Paul, Justin (Liz) Peare, Corey Peare, Elizabeth (Emily) Josey, Jennifer (Kevin) Betteley, Stephanie (Cory) Koperski; great-grandchildren MacKenzie, Cameron, Jackson, Madelynn, Mason, and Quinn; several nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and his faithful Pug, Sophie.

He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Josey and daughter, Gwen Josey.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Wayland United Methodist Church, 200 Church St., Wayland, with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice, Allegan or Wayland United Methodist Church memorial fund.
