Spring service for care giver Keith Boekeloo?

Keith Stephen Boekeloo, aged 66, died of heart failure Dec. 28 in Grand Rapids

Born on Nov. 14, 1958, in Kalamazoo, to the late Martin and Geraldine (Pinkster) Boekeloo, Keith was a man whose life was marked by compassion, humor and a deep-seated faith.

After graduating from Kalamazoo Christian High School, he pursued his passion for helping others by obtaining a degree in nursing from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. His career in nursing began with work in adult foster care homes where he provided support to individuals with traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Keith’s commitment to health care extended to 16 years of service in endoscopy, and he concluded his professional journey as a respected supervisor for Medicare authorizations.

Outside of his work, Keith was known for his love of baking and cooking, often sharing his delicious creations with friends and family. He found tranquility in gardening, reeling in the catch of the day while fishing, and had a keen eye for antiques, which he enjoyed collecting and selling.

Keith’s life was filled with laughter and love, which he generously shared with his family. Though predeceased by his parents, Martin and Geraldine, his sister Sandy Postmus, and his brother David Boekeloo, his memory will be kept alive by his devoted fiancé, Donald D’Alexander, his siblings Kenneth Boekeloo, Donna Voss, and Mark Boekeloo.

He was a proud and loving father to his daughters Pamela Brown, Jessica Dehart, and Deana Reinhart. He leaves behind eight grandchildren.

Keith’s departure from this world leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his spirit will forever be a beacon of love and kindness. His laughter, his warmth, and his unwavering positivity will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
