
Joyce Parker, age 77, died Wednesday, Oct.29, after a fierce and courageous battle with cancer.
A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, Joyce shared the gospel with everyone she spent time with. Her heart was especially drawn to missions, women’s ministry and children’s ministry.
Together with her husband, Robert “Bob” Parker, she opened their home as foster parents to nearly 30 children over the years.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert “Bob” Parker; children Aimee (Bruce) VanTuinen, Angie (Terry) Louth, Amber (Jeff) VanSingel, Sue (Eric) Pell, Bonnie (Chris) Ferguson; grandchildren Caleb (Katie), Tyler (Allison), Brennen (Kaylin), Calvin (fiancé, Mae), Linsey (Matt), Arynn (Tony), Erika (Ryn), Paige, Zach, Sofia, Jared, Aidan; great-grandchildren Aubree, Ashtyn, Ellie, Robby, Halston, Atticus, Madelyn, Reagon, Cooper, Henry, Rafe; siblings Jack (Eunice) Bassett, Connie (Arthur) Hooker, Anita (Howard) Deal; in-laws Joanie Culver, Jim (Shawn) Parker; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her triplet infants; parents Ellsworth and Naomi Bassett; in-laws Robert and Nellie Parker; and brother-in-law, Elwyn Culver.
Visitation with Joyce’s family and friends will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at Kubiak Cook Funeral Home – Dorr Chapel, 4330 18th St. Services for Joyce will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., at Calvary Church of Wayland, 304 S. Main St.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Joyce, contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or Calvary Church of Wayland – Missions Fund.
