Melvin R. Fought, age 94, died Monday, Sept, 11.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Karen (Jeff) Burns, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended relatives.

Melvin was preceded in death by his wife Eliza Lee Fought and sister, Dorothy Tryon.

Melvin’s family will meet with relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at the Luella Collins Community Center, 419 126th Avenue, Shelbyville. Funeral services for Melvin will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Luella Collins Community Center with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
