Service set for Sept. 19 for Wanetta Czarnecki

Wanetta Czarnecki, age 77, died Thursday, Sept. 11.

Wanetta was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who loved spending time with and supporting her family.

She loved to travel. She traveled to 49 of the states with her husband; they traveled to visit family out of state and loved taking pictures to document the adventures. She attended many gospel concerts with friends, especially Guy Penrod and the Gaither Vocal Band.

Wanetta was a nurse and patient educator for 40+ years with the majority of those years at Allegan General Hospital. She had a strong Catholic faith for many years. Wanetta loved supporting her kids’ and grandkids’ activities and the Detroit Tigers.

She is survived by her children Jerry (Bridgett) Czarnecki, Lynda (John) Jachimiak, and Wayne (Melissa) Czarnecki; grandchildren Alica (Nick) Pellegrino, Joseph (Olivia) Jachimiak, Christopher Jachimiak, Aaron Czarnecki, David Jachimiak, Brayden Czarnecki, and Wyatt Czarnecki; sisters Joanne Langston, Carol (Terry) Glass, and Alisa (Tom) VanZoeren; sister-in-law, Amanda Schelling; brother-in-law, Richard DeRuiter Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Jerald Sr. Czarnecki; parents Ralph and Alice Schelling; sisters Harriet Hoogerwerf and Emma DeRuiter; brother, John Schelling; brothers-in-law Larry Langston Sr., Donald Hoogerwerf, and Gordon Czarnecki; sister-in-law, Merilyn Czarnecki.

Visitation with friends and family will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home – Wayland Chapel, 312 N. Main St. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, preceded by a visitation beginning at 10 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9669 Kraft Ave. SE, Caledonia.
