Letha Mae Krcatovich, 89, of Allegan, died Friday, Dec. 13, at Wings Home.

Born Dec. 9, 1930, in Logan, OH, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Golda “Marie” (Pargeon) Sanders. Letha graduated from Allegan High School as a member of the Class of 1948. She married Michael Krcatovich in 1954 and shared 64 years together prior to his death in 2018.

Besides helping on the family farm, Letha worked at Hopkins High School for more than 20 years.

She was a dedicated, longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she was the organist for almost 50 years, a member of the Catholic Council of Women and the St. Vincent de Paul Society/Good Samaritan. She was a talented musician playing for numerous Masses, weddings, and funerals. She loved singing the Star Spangled Banner before high school basketball games.

Letha is survived by her children, Mike (Joanne) Krcatovich, Linnette (Tim) Krcatovich, Janet (Scott) Storey, Linda Krcatovich, Lisa (Kevin) Sheaffer, Tony Krcatovich and Matt (Mindy) Krcatovich; one brother, Raymond “Sonny” Sanders,; 16 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; eleven step-great grandchildren, and her beloved cat, Miss Kitty.

Besides her husband and parents, Letha was preceded in death by her sisters, Jeanette (Stanley) Peterson, Eileen “June” (Robert) Graves, Kathryn (Arthur) Traxler, Robert (Sherry) Sanders, and her sister-in-law, Patricia Sanders.

The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dece. 18, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Simon Manjooran, celebrant.
