Eileen M. Davis, 91 of Allegan, died Monday, Sept. 5, at Allegan County Medical Care Community.

Mrs. Davis was born June 1, 1925, in Otsego, the daughter of James L. and Julia A. (Thorpe) Boylan. She was a dedicated member of Chicora Country Chapel. In her earlier days, Eileen worked at Kessler’s Undies and Woolies in Wayland and Allegan Public Schools, as a member of the custodial staff for the middle school. She was the third former Kessler’s employee to pass this year, the others being Sandra Hammer and Margarete (Raab) Ransom.

Eileen is survived by her children: Betty Prouty, Russ and Joyce Davis, David and Cindy Davis, Ken and Robin Davis, Wanda and Elwin Wheeler; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bon Davis; daughter, Ruth Ann Davis; granddaughter, Dana Jayne Davis; grandson, Clayton Richardson; two great-granddaughters: Kasie Richardson and Addie Rife; and eight brothers and sisters, of whom she was the last of nine children.

Friends may meet with the family from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Pastor Herb Curry officiating. Interment will take place at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Township.
