Mike Frank, of Dorr died of complications from pneumonia died May 5. He was 62.

Born at Allegan General Hospital in 1956 to Ron and Evelyn Frank, he suffered a lifelong battle with pneumonia and his sister Kathryn died from pneumonia about two months after his birth.

Mike spent his life focusing on two areas of passion – the centennial farm on 142nd Avenue and his skills in construction. The farm was bought by Joseph Frank in 1847 and is still maintained and occupied by a member to the Frank lineage.  Mike spent time researching the original land patent, the history of the farm and the ancestors who came prior to his moving into the farm and worked and replaced old buildings and restoring fields and crops to a productive farm.

In earlier years his skills built engines, cars, and basically anything broken. He lived in the Wayland and Moline areas for most of his life and was often seen in restaurants with a group of friends from various construction and farming projects.

Preceding Mike in death are his paternal grandparents John and Arlah Frank; maternal grandparents Clyde and Myrtle Moore and his sister, Kathryn. He has left a large family of parents, siblings, children, step-children, nieces, nephews, and friends. His parents Ronald and Evelyn Frank; siblings Deborah Frank Thompson and their son, Damon Thompson; Laurie Frank and her daughters Tara Veldkamp, Alysia (Erik Mendez) Veldkamp and their daughter, Raelynn Mendez; his son Richard (Tiffany) Frank, their children Rosalina Frank, Grace Frank, Hannah Frank, Logan Juhas, Jaiden Juhas, Emma Juhas; his son Douglas (Heather) Frank and their child, Ryan Lowing; his daughter Christina (John) Frank Karnisz and their child, Zachary Karnisz; and his step-children April, Soomee, and Michel.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, Wayland Chapel, 312 N. Main St. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, with visitation from 12:30 to  1:15 p.m. prior to the service. Internment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
