Irene Ziegler died Sunday, Dec. 26, at Plainwell Pines. She was 78.

She was born March 19, 1943, in Hastings, the daughter of Carl and Doris (Boyer) Willcutt. Irene worked at the Super 8 Hotel in Kalamazoo and with the elderly in Shelbyville for many years.

She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, coloring and listening to country music. She was a member of the Delton VFW Post #422. On Oct. 10, 1964, she married Gerald “Jerry” Ziegler, who passed away in 2009.

Surviving are her daughter, Connie (Mark) Bellgraph; four grandchildren, Kim (Kyle) Bowe, Chelsea (Jon) Curtiss, Nick Bellgraph and Rachel Bellgraph; five great-grandchildren, Hailey, Hayden, Emily, Adam, Ariel and Henry due soon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Charlie, Stanley and JoAn.

Friends may visit with Irene’s family from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Watson Township with Rev. Fr. Derda officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Contributions in memory of Irene may be made to Centrica Care Navigators or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Watson Township.
