Donald E. Knudsen of Hopkins died Friday, May 27, at the Wings Home in Allegan. He was 88.
Don was born Dec. 3, 1927, in Oak Park, Ill., the son of Frank and Bertha (Forbear) Knudsen. On June 24, 1950, Don married Dorothy Evans, in Chicago. They moved to Hopkins in 1952.
He had worked for almost 40 years with Michigan Bell, serving time in both Chicago and Wayland. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII. Don was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Watson for more than 60 years.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; two children, Deb Strang; Barry Knudsen; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bud; and his sister, Marilyn Marzec.
Friends may meet with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 30, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m, Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Watson, Fr, Harry Potter, Celebrant. Interment in the Church Cemetery.
