A fine American who served our nation on the USS Guadalcanal an Escort Carrier, a combat ship with an outstanding record of service. All who served onboard her were great men who went into harm’s way and are credited with sinking three German submarines and probably two more. The loss of anyone is tragic the loss of an American hero is even more so. A sad day indeed.
