Hopkins native Marilyn Crotser died Friday, Dec. 23, at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was 84.
She was born June 3, 1938, the daughter of Leon and Edna (Cooley) Arnsman. She worked for General Motors for more than 27 years. She enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, camping and traveling, working in her flower gardens, spending the winters in Florida and taking care of her family.
She liked working with the youth and was active in the choir at her church in Florida. She was also a member of Lakeland Reformed Church in Vicksburg and the Otsego VFW Post #3030 Ladies Auxiliary. On Dec. 19, 1999, in Vicksburg, she married David G. Crotser who survives.
Also surviving are her children, Sue Ellen (Robert Morgan) Meisheri of Arizona, Beth Gudith Wood of Texas and Julie (Gary) Wheeler of Otsego; step-children, David (Laura) Crotser of Indiana and Colleen Crotser of Portage; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings, LeeDale “Pete” (Peggy) Arnsman, Jim (Rita) Arnsman, Richard (Caroline) Arnsman and Margaret Vanderveen; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Arnsman, Gitta Arnsman and Joyce Kruithoff along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Roger Gudith and siblings, Betty Kruithoff, Delbert, Fredrick “Fritz” and Raymond Arnsman.
Friends may meet with Marilyn’s family starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the funeral service at 11, with Pastor Stephen Burrow officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego.
Contributions in memory of Marilyn may be made to the Church of God in Otsego, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or Lakeland Reformed Church in Vicksburg.
