Lila E. Brummel, 94, of Byron Center, died Saturday, Feb. 3.

She is survived by her children Carol (Bob) Herp, Larry (Esther) Brummel, Marvin (Kathy) Brummel, Ted (Mary) Brummel; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings Margurite Buhler and Charles (Erma) Snyder; brother-in-law, John Syswerda; family friend and neighbor, Lloyd Baartman; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Donald Brummel; son-in-law, William “Bill” Sturgess; daughter-in-law, Kathy Brummel; granddaughter, Lori Ann Brummel; great-grandson, Nathan Brummel; parents Harry and Effie Snyder; brother, Stanley Snyder; and sisters Lillian Smith and Marie Syswerda.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 8, at St Peter’s Lutheran Church, 4125 18th Street, Dorr, MI 49323. Pastor Stephen Otto officiated. Interment was inSalem Township Cemetery, Burnips.

In honor of Lila and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gilda’s Club – Grand Rapids or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
