Service will be Friday for Doug Echelberger, 78, of Dorr

Douglas L. Echphoto_20160919_wm0077187_0_20160919elberger, age 78 of Dorr, died Sunday, Sept 18.
Doug graduated from Cadillac High School in 1956. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After more than 30 years, Doug retired from Columbian Storage and Transfer as a driver. Doug enjoyed spending time outdoors including time spent golfing and hunting.
Doug is survived by his wife Patricia; his daughters: Julia and Jim Travis, Shelly Narva; his grandson Gregory and Losa Narva; his great-granddaughter Brooklyn; his brother Jim Echelberger; brothers and sisters-in-law: Barb and Steve Richards, Dennis and Barb Harig, Wayne Harig, Janice Harig and Kevin Macdonald, Carol and Brian Brooks, Greg and Rachel Harig; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Agnes Echelberger, his brother Gary Echelberger, and sister-in-law Pauline Echelberger.
Friends may visit with Doug’s family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, 4330 18th St., Dorr, with a Rosary at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Visitation Parish with Father Christopher Derda presiding. Interment will follow with military honors at North Dorr Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Doug may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or St. Mary’s Visitation Parish.
