Milton Harris Johnson, 78, of Allegan, died Monday, Dec. 20.

Born May 5, 1943, in Searcy, Ark., he was the son of the late Erving and Grace (Parkridge) Johnson and was the husband of Kathleen Marie (Wuis) Johnson. Milton was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

After 30 years of dedicated employment, he retired from the Allegan County Road Commission and went to work for the Family Farm and Home stores in Wayland when they each opened, for Younkers Milk Hauling and Allegan County Transportation.

Milton and his family loved spending time together on the family farm where they raised and showed draft horses and ponies.

Besides his wife, Milton is survived by his children, Elizabeth Johnson, Tina (Chris) Wheatley, Justin (Jackie) Johnson and Andy (Annalee) Johnson; siblings, Bob Johnson, Phyllis (Danny) English, Sylvia McPike, Robbie Johnson and Peggy Hardin; siblings-in-law, Albert “Sonny” Green, Patricia Warner, Roger (Jane) Simpson, Nancy Schut and Richard (Cindy) Sheley; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Darlis Ghent, Donnie Johnson, Lyndel Johnson, Teddie Johnson and Neddie Johnson; and in-laws, Evie Green, Ray Warner and Harley Schut.

A memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at At the Master’s Feet Discipleship Ministry, 814 21st Street, Otsego. Contributions in Milton’s memory may be made to the church.
