Mary Ellen Winebarger, age 87, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, Dec. 28.

Mary Ellen enjoyed always being on “the go.” She loved spending time with people and getting to know them. She worked at Harding’s in Wayland for 31 years and could remember the names and families of the numerous people she met day to day. She loved and cherished her family and time spent with them. Mary Ellen loved frequenting flea markets, garage sales and estate sales.

Mary Ellen is survived by her children, Terry Sr. (Susie) Chrisman, Thomas Fein; grandchildren Daniel, Jason (Nicole), Terry Jr. (Theresa), Sara (Scott), Thomas, Jessica; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Glenda Schwartz, Elmedia Schwartz; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Harley and Margaret Schwartz; daughter, Lee Ellen Fein; siblings Roy Schwartz, Robert (Roxsandra) Schwartz, Harley Schwartz, and Janet Kay.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Shelbyville United Methodist Church, 938 124th Ave., with visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Mary Ellen will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery in Wayland. In memory of Mary Ellen and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shelbyville United Methodist Church or a charity of one’s choosing.
