Donna L. Miller, 81, of Hopkins, died Thursday, Feb. 25, at her home.
Mrs. Miller was born in Hopkins June 4, 1934, the daughter of Alford and Katherine (Soughders) Layton. She was a 1952 Hopkins High School graduate and attended Monterey Center United Methodist Church. Donna was a home maker for her family and an exceptionally hard worker. She loved living on their dairy farm and canning her own fresh produce from her garden.
Donna married Richard Miller in 1953 and together they raised their family and ran the farm.
She is survived by her husband; seven of their children: Sharon Miller-Walcott and Steve Walcott, Charles and Bertha Miller, Eileen and Clyde Chapman, James Miller, Teresa and Jeff Ellis, Kevin and Oralia Miller, Nicholas and Maria Miller; 12 grandchildren: Dan, David, Tom, Chelsey, Alexandra, Stan, Christopher, Samantha, Gloria, Katy, Kassie and Jordan; six great-grandchildren: Aiden, Abigail, Natalie, Tyler, David and Tyler; a brother: Ronald and Julia Layton; and a sister: Dorothy and Cliff Harrington.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Alford and Katherine Layton; infant son Alan Miller and her sister, Doris Brahlek Miller.
Friends may meet with the family from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Pastor Sally K. Harrington officiating. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Township.
