Mark Funk, age 54 of Burnips, died Saturday, July 10.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Shelley Funk; children Alicia (Cesar) Juarez-Cano; mother, Lavonne Funk; grandchildren Ariana, Elias, Isaac, and Charlotte; many friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Leo Funk.

Mark appreciated the simple things in life, finding joy in heartfelt conversation, the beauty of nature, and a good laugh with family and friends. He was a dedicated worker taking pride in his work to do his utmost; a person of perseverance and a big heart.

Visitation with Mark’s family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, with the service beginning at 1 p.m. at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 4330 18th St., Dorr.

In honor of Mark, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Defenders of Wildlife.
