John J. Wieringa Sr., age 36, died Thursday, Aug. 30.

He is survived by his children; John J. Jr., Elizabeth Lynn, Ashton James Wieringa, along with their mother, Kathleen Wieringa; his parents, Jim & Deb Wieringa; sister, Autumn (Matthew) DeVries; grandparents Betty Ann Burnham, Floyd & Dee Tubergen; nieces and nephews Samuel, Emma, Thomas and Max DeVries and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He will also be remembered by the guys that he witnessed to and struggled with at Guiding Light & A.A.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John & Gertrude Wieringa.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, at Wayland Christian Reformed Church, 303 E. Elm St., where he was a lifelong member. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Wayland Christian Reformed Church. Pastor and good friend, Jerry Zandstra officiating.
