Sherry June Benedict, age 78 of Wayland, died Thursday, Sept. 26.

She was born Aug. 31, 1941, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Edward and Mary Walton, who both preceded her in death.

Sherry’s working career started with Kelly Girls temp agency in Kalamazoo several and later she worked for Hope Network as a secretary. Her favorite things were shopping and finding a great sale and coupon cutting on behalf of family.  Sherry also will be remembered for her calligraphy, her recipe and cookbook collection, shopping on QVC and her lead foot when driving.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years David Benedict; children Wendi (Randy) Fein and Troy (Pamela) Griggs; grandsons Darrin and Jason Fein; sister Christy (Ron) Geiger; brothers David and Bill Walton; sisters-in-law Alice and Donna Benedict and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St. Wayland.  The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to service.
