Ward Arthur Kortz of Dorr died Saturday, Dec. 7. He was 81.

Ward loved camping and riding motorcycles. He retired from Pioneer Construction after many years of service. He was a man with many skills; a jack of all trades.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy (Stocking) Kortz; children, Robin Johnson, James Felke, Ward Kortz, Jr., Ginger Nelson; many grandchildren; sister, Iris Anderson; brother, Larry Kortz; and several nieces and nephews.

Ward was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Mervil (Meyers) Kortz; brothers, Leo and Otis Kortz; and sister, Donna Brauer.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St., with Pastor Jerry Julien officiating. Interment in Kent Memorial Gardens. The family will greet visitors Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stroo Funeral Home.
