Services for Theresa Marklevitz set for Feb. 28

Theresa Lee Marklevitz (Moore), of Wayland, died Saturday, Feb. 21. She was 67 years old.

Born in Ipswich, Suffolk, England on Aug. 10, 1958 to Eugene and Shirley Moore, Theresa was a self-described “Air Force brat.” While she lived in many states growing up, she called Wayland home for most of her life, graduating from Wayland Union High School in 1976.

An extraordinarily talented seamstress, Theresa could sew anything with or without a pattern, and was always willing to repair or alter clothing for family and friends. She left countless creations that will continue to be worn, used, and cherished for generations to come.

Theresa’s happiest hours were spent with her hands in the earth and her face to the sun. She poured her heart into her flower beds and greenhouse, and could grow anything she tried. The flowers she tended will continue to grow and color the world in her absence.

For many years, Theresa was successfully self-employed and cleaned homes. To many of her clients, she was seen as an additional member of the family.

Theresa was a great mother to her daughter, Jessy. She worked incredibly hard to provide a life rich with opportunity. She was Jessy’s most passionate storyteller, taking immense pride in every milestone her daughter reached.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Marklevitz; daughter, Jessy (Corbyn) Krzeminski; father, Eugene Moore; stepdaughters Angela Ferguson and Alena (Thomas) Malkewitz; and brothers Gregory (Melissa) Moore and Gary (Erin) Moore. She is also survived by nephews, nieces and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Moore.

A visitation celebrating the life of Theresa will be held from 4 to7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Wayland chapel), 312 N. Main St with a time for sharing memories beginning at 6:30 p.m.
