Laura (Laurie) L. (Hoeksema) Tilma mother, partner, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend, age 63 of Grandville, formerly of Dorr, died Sunday, April 6.
Laurie courageously fought her 23 year battle against cancer with a determined smile always on her face. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and kindness to all she met, always putting others before herself.
In life, she enjoyed going to the beach, watching fireworks, finding a good bargain, and sitting out in the sun. Her deep motherly love for her daughters and grandchildren also overflowed to her cherished cats, that she had over the years.
She is survived by her daughters Lindsey Tilma, Heather (James) Helmus; partner, Larry Seeley; his children and family; her grandchildren Aidan and Vera; brothers Rick (Lynda) Hoeksema, Steve Hoeksema; stepmother, Minie Hoeksema; nieces Rachel and Sarah; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Shirley Hoeksema.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, at the funeral home, with visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
