Patricia Alice Thomas, age 84, of Caledonia died Sunday, Dec. 11.

Pat graduated from Wayland High School in 1955. She married her husband, Joseph, in 1959. Together, they raised four children. A hobby that Pat shared with Joseph over the years involved traveling across the country for field trials and competitions with bassets and beagles, raising more than 50 champions. Pat was an avid reader. Some of her favorite pastimes included sewing, crafting, crossword puzzles, and going on Sunday drives for ice cream.

An active member of Holy Family Church, she enjoyed volunteering anywhere help was needed. She cherished spending time with her kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Thomas; children, Gary Thomas, Michele (Gary) Hutchins, Kenneth (Jana) Thomas; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; siblings, Mary Jo Batts, John (Lisa) Belka, Richard (Kathleen) Belka, Cynthia Belka; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Agnes Belka; son, Michael T. Thomas; siblings, Thomas (Edna Lou) Belka, Eugene Belka, Stephen Belka, James Belka; brother-in-law, Raymond Batts.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9669 Kraft Ave SE, Caledonia, with Rev. Michael Cilibraise officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family for visitation on Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at church. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
