Services Friday in Dorr for Ric Cornelisse

Richard David Cornelisse, age 72 of Dorr, died Saturday, Oct. 11.

Born Feb. 3, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Ric lived a life filled with dedication to family, a passion for music, and a deep connection to the outdoors.

After graduating high school, Ric spent much of his career as a press operator, where his strong work ethic and dependability left a lasting impression. At age 17, he met his future wife, Trijntje “Theresa” Baas, through a mutual friend.

Ric’s love of country music was a cornerstone of his life, and he took great pride in his guitar collection. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in fishing and camping, embracing the tranquility of nature. Ric was always supporting his grandchildren and you would find him at every recital, sports game and event.

Ric is survived by his wife, Trijntje “Theresa” Cornelisse; son, Rick and his wife, Carrie; daughter, Becky and her husband, Matt. He will also be remembered by his five grandchildren Harper, Natalie, Brody, Emery and Paxton. Ric is also survived by his sisters Linda, Cheryl and Karen; and brothers Al and Tom.

Visitation with family and friends will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday Oct. 17, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home (Dorr Chapel) to celebrate Ric’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Versiti Blood Center of Michigan.
